It takes less than 15 seconds to render those previews, but the software will only do it once allowing you revisit them at any point. When chosen, the software takes a few moments to create large previews that will pop out from the left giving you a good-sized view of the potential effect of the filter. The presets within each category appear below. They include fashion, nature, portrait, wedding and others. The far left column features sets of presets which are categorized into different genres of photography. I’m not the only one as many photographers have discovered how this one control is capable of adding a nice “pop” to photographs. Finally, Topaz Detail is intended as the final step, sharpening your image before export and/or printing.Since the introduction of the Clarity slider, it’s become one of my favorite tools for controlling the finer contrast of my images. Although it's intended to sit at the same mid-point of your workflow, Clarity aims to control fewer variables, but to do so with better results. Topaz Adjust is the closest to the new Clarity plugin, but it's more of a one-size-fits-all plug-in, including many more features such as detail control and what Topaz calls "finishing touches" - things like vignetting, grain simulation, and so forth. InFocus aims to combat blur, meanwhile, and is intended as the first step in your workflow. The company has addressed this in a blog post, focusing on the differences between Clarity and three existing plug-ins: InFocus, Adjust, and Detail.Ĭlarity's aim is to adjust contrast and overall image snap, and it also tunes hue, saturation, and lightness. With around a dozen different plug-ins to choose from, Topaz clearly recognizes that users might be a little confused about just where Clarity fits into the overall scheme of things, and how it differs from existing products.
